Privacy & Terms
By using KTV21, you accept these terms. KTV21 grants you a limited right to use the app, but no rights to songs, videos, recordings, or public performances.
You are responsible for lawful use, song choices, venue rules, public performance rights, and local requirements. YouTube playback is governed by YouTube and Google terms.
Room names, display names, queue, chat, playback state, device identifiers, and sign-in details may be processed to run the room. KTV21 is provided as-is, without warranties or guaranteed availability.
YouTube API Services
KTV21 uses YouTube API Services to find and play publicly available YouTube videos. It does not access a viewer's YouTube account, subscriptions, watch history, or private YouTube data.
Search results are cached for at most 30 minutes. If you save a song, its public YouTube metadata is refreshed or deleted within 30 days; your saved video choice and KTV21 playlist/activity fields can remain until you remove them or delete your account.
Review the YouTube Terms of Service and Google Privacy Policy. By using this API client, you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service.
Information KTV21 collects, stores, and uses
YouTube API Data
When you search for a song, KTV21 sends your search text to the YouTube Data API and receives public information about matching videos: video ID, title, channel name, duration, publication year, view count, thumbnail image URL, and the embeddable player size. KTV21 stores this YouTube API Data with the room queue, so everyone in the room can see what is playing and what is next, and with any song you save to favorites, playlists, or play history. KTV21 never accesses your YouTube account, subscriptions, watch history, YouTube playlists, or any private YouTube data, and it never asks you to authorize access to a YouTube account.
Information you provide
The room name, your host or guest display name, singer names, chat messages you send in a room, the songs you queue, the songs you save to favorites and playlists, your play history, your search terms, your language choice, and your privacy choices.
Device and technical information
A randomly generated device identifier that lets KTV21 tell apart the devices in one room, a room seat secret that proves a device owns its seat, the app version, your browser's language and user-agent, and your IP address. Your IP address is used by KTV21's hosting and security providers to deliver the page and block abuse, and it appears in short-lived server logs; it is never used to build an advertising or behavioral profile.
Stored in your browser
KTV21 keeps your accepted terms, your analytics choice, your language, your most recent room, and — while you are signed out — your favorites and play history in your browser's local storage and cookies. Clearing your browser data removes them.
Usage measurement
If you allow analytics, KTV21 records aggregate, cookieless usage — page views, performance timings, and which in-app features are used — through independent analytics providers. Nothing that identifies you is sent and no profile is built; the only thing kept on your device is a random id that is discarded when you close the tab. You can turn it off at any time below.
AI assistant
The in-app AI assistant is optional and off until you open it and agree. When you send it a message, KTV21 sends that message, the recent conversation, and the room context it needs — song titles, the queue, display names, and recent room chat — to an AI model provider (currently NVIDIA) to generate a reply. Your Google account email is not sent. Requests are not used to identify you, and the conversation is kept only in your browser for the session. That provider processes this data under its own terms; do not type anything private into the assistant.
What KTV21 does not collect
KTV21 does not collect payment details, precise location, contacts, camera, microphone, or biometric data, and it requests no Google or YouTube data beyond the sign-in details described below. KTV21 does not sell or rent your information, and does not use it for advertising, profiling, or AI model training.
Google OAuth data
Data accessed
When you sign in with Google, KTV21 receives the Google account email address, Google account identifier, and authentication session information needed to keep you signed in. KTV21 does not request or access Gmail, Drive, Calendar, Contacts, YouTube account data, or other Google content.
How we use it
KTV21 uses Google OAuth data to authenticate you, identify your KTV21 account, authorize host, guest, and mirror access to rooms, prevent unauthorized room control, keep account-scoped display names, favorites, history, playlists, and preferences, process account deletion requests, and — only if you opt in — send you occasional KTV21 product-update and announcement emails.
KTV21 will only send you product-update or announcement emails if you explicitly opt in. This is off by default, every message includes an unsubscribe link, and you can turn it off anytime in Privacy & Terms. Your email address is never sold, rented, shared with third parties, or used for advertising, profiling, or AI training.
Sharing
KTV21 does not sell, rent, or share Google OAuth email addresses or Google user data with third parties for their own use. A signed-in mirror player's email address may be visible to the current room host so the host can recognize who is mirroring the room and remove unauthorized mirrors.
Storage and deletion
Google OAuth data is stored only as needed to provide the signed-in account experience. Account-scoped KTV21 data is stored under your authenticated user ID; signed-in personal library data is stored in the cloud and not kept in browser localStorage. Rooms are temporary and auto-pruned. Google policy
KTV21's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Google API Services User Data Policy.
How long KTV21 keeps it
YouTube API Data: search responses are cached for at most 30 minutes. YouTube API Data held in a room is deleted together with the room, which happens automatically within 7 days of the room's last activity. YouTube API Data attached to a song you saved is refreshed from the YouTube Data API or deleted within 30 days — a daily job strips any copy older than 29 days, leaving only your own video choice until fresh data is fetched.
Account, favorites, playlists, and play history: kept while your KTV21 account exists, and removed when you delete your account.
Data in your browser: kept until you clear your browser data, sign out, or delete your account.
